Nate Ryan was Kenny Ryan's brother. He and his brother bought the Stowaway for a personal vendetta against the Porters.

Early life

Nate and his brother Kenny were the sons of Montauk racketeer Joe Ryan, who was shot and killed in 2006. Prior to his first appearance in Revenge, he was released from a five year sentence at Riker's Island for drug dealing.

Season Two

In "Power", Declan has Charlotte distract the Ryan brothers while he finds out that they are moving drugs through the Stowaway. Somehow, the Ryan brothers find out that Jack contacted the police and move the drugs to Jack's boat, The Amanda, leading to Jack's arrest.

In "Union", Amanda sabotages Conrad's plans for the Stowaway by stealing Emily's secret laptop and blackmailing him with video footage revealing him to have been involved with the Initiative. Nate, angered, sneaks aboard The Amanda when Jack and Amanda go on their honeymoon trip after learning that they are in the way of Conrad's plans for the Stowaway. In the next episode on the sea, he holds the newlyweds at gunpoint and plans to kill them after destroying the laptop. Locked below deck, he shoots through the door and hits Jack in the abdomen. After Amanda puts him in a life raft and pushes him away, Emily shows up and joins the fight. During a fight, Nate's gun hits a propane tank and ruptures it. He is shot and wounded by Amanda. She and Emily prepare to leave until Amanda goes to pick up a necklace. Nate, still alive, turns on a lighter, exploding the propane and blowing up the boat, going down with it. Amanda is mortally wounded by the blast and dies soon after.

Personality

Nate was the most brutal and physical of the Ryan brothers. Though both he and Kenny want revenge for their father, Nate's motives extend to exact that revenge on the Porter sons even though he thought their father killed him.
